SCHOOL LEVEL ACTIVITY

DA - AC (DESH APNAYEN ACTIZEN CLUB)

INVESTITURE OF NEW DA- AC/RENEWAL OF DA- AC

Partner schools are requested to select DA teachers to constitute DA ACTIZEN Club in their respective

schools. DA recommends at-least 1 Social Science teacher as DA Teacher. School can select 2 or more

teachers to assist and support the DA teacher.

PROCESS TO BE FOLLOWED -

STAGE 1 – INVITATION (CALL FOR PARTICIPATION)

1. Orient students about the Desh Apnayen ACTIZEN club through Student

orientation programme. (Module to be provided by Desh Apnayen to school

during Teacher’s orientation programme)

2. Invite students from Grade 5

to 9

to participate in the DA ACTIZEN club

– School assembly or individual class room notice – Call for participation

3. Give 1 weeks’ time for nomination

4. Select students on a first come first serve basis.

5. Recommended – 2 students per section per grade, total 25 – 40 students

are recommended to run the club effectively, but it is up to school’s decision

if they would like to involve more students in the club.

6. Announce the election date.

STAGE 2 – ELECTION (ELECTION OF OFFICE BEARERS)

1. Call for nominations for President, Vice President, Secretary

and Treasurer Positions. Students also can nominate

themselves.

2. Conduct a formal process of election of DA ACTIZEN club

office bearers on a selected date through ballot voting and

let them feel the voting system.

3. It is desirable to select/call/nominate office bearers from Grade 8

and 9

4. Conduct election for each position, count the votes and announce the results.

5. Announce the combined results and publish a list of DA ACTIZEN club office bearers on a notice

board or DA wall.

6. Create a Record Book (physical) and handover to DA ACTIZEN club president to record the

activities, events and meetings during the year.

7. Plan a DA ACTIZEN club Investiture ceremony in your school to handover DA badges to office

bearers and all members and announcement of formal club.

STAGE 3 – INVESTITURE CEREMONY OF DACC

1. Inaugurate the DACC in school assembly – By Principal

2. Call some renowned/famous personality/Govt.

official/local hero/dignitary to inaugurate the event.

3. Announce the list of DA ACTIZEN club office bearers,

members and DA teachers

a. The President will speak about the DACC in the school

Assembly – Purpose, type of activities, Community participation,

how it is unique?

4. Invite DA team members, community and parents’

representatives to witness the event.

5. Take DA pledge during the ceremony.

6. Ask for volunteer to be selected as Voice of DA

VOICE OF DA –

• He/She may or may not be office bearer or DACC member. The students who is good at Public

speaking can be nominated for Voice of DA.

• Responsibility of Voice of DA would be to represent DA in school assemblies or celebrations of

days of National importance in school.

• Material/content for speeches and presentations to be provided from DA from time to time for

voice of DA.

DA teacher needs to send names of DA ACTIZEN club members, voice of DA and office bearers selected to DA

relationship manager for records and sending out badges accordingly.
